E-mail & Website Fraud

At Farmington Bank protecting the security of your information is a priority to us. We have put together the following information and references to help you to protect your identification and private information.

AVOIDING EMAIL AND WEBSITE FRAUD

As with all types of fraud, the first step in preventing email and website fraud is being diligent about protecting your information. If you provide information about yourself online, be careful about who you are giving out your personal information to. Farmington Bank will never ask you to provide confidential information about yourself via email.

• Do not use links provided in unsolicited emails that ask for your personal and financial information. The safest route is to access the website by typing the destination into your browser directly.

• When submitting personal or financial information online make sure you are using a secure website. A secure website can be identified by a padlock icon in the status bar of your web browser or by an internet address beginning https:// rather than http://.

• Update your browser and security patches on a regular basis. Microsoft Internet Explorer users can log on to www.microsoft.com/security/ to update their browser and security patches. Netscape users can find security updates at http://wp.netscape.com/security/index.html.

• Check your banking and credit card statements on a regular basis to ensure that there are no unauthorized transactions on your account.

• Order a copy of your credit report at least once each year to review the information for possible fraud. The reports can be ordered through:

• Equifax – www.equifax.com - 1-800-685-1111
• Experian – www.experian.com - 1-888-EXPERIAN (397-3742)
• TransUnion – www.transunion.com - 1-800-916-8800
